Like the reptile it takes its name from, the SMT-770 Chameleon adapts quickly to suit its surroundings — a single thermostat capable of controlling almost any type of heating, cooling, or air conditioning system, while meeting the individual needs of the people using it.
The SMT-770 can be used as a residential programmable thermostat, a commercial programmable thermostat, or a simple manual thermostat — making it one of the most versatile HVAC controllers on the market.
Unmatched Flexibility
The installer can configure the SMT-770 to control heat pump systems (with auxiliary or emergency heating if necessary), gas and oil heating systems with add-on cooling, high and low balance points, multiple heating and cooling stages, and even the number of fan speeds it must control.
The user can choose programmable or manual operation with single or multiple set points — and if they change their mind, the Chameleon will adapt without fuss to suit their new needs.

For larger projects where central control is essential, the SMT-770 Chameleon features integrated Modbus communication. Every function and setting can be viewed, locked, changed, or edited from a centralised location — or automatically managed via a building management system (BMS).
Wide System Compatibility
Compatible with reverse cycle and gas heat/cool systems, operating on 24V control with support for multistage outputs and a remote sensor option. The SMT-770 replaces almost all 24V thermostats, including Smart Temp ISIS, SMT-310, SMT-200, Hanwest, Aprilaire, and Robertshaw models.
