CO sensors don't last forever — and a degraded sensor on a live job is a serious safety risk. The RCM4 is the genuine Fieldpiece replacement sensor for the SCM4 and ACM4 carbon monoxide detectors, keeping your meter accurate and your liability covered.

The RCM4 comes pre-calibrated and certified straight out of the box — simply plug in the new sensor and your SCM4 or ACM4 is automatically restored to factory calibration standards. No sending the unit away, no recalibration service required. Field-replaceable in minutes. 

The advanced three-pin electrochemical sensor measures 0 to 1,000 ppm CO — fast enough for walk-around testing in residential and commercial spaces, ducted gas heater inspections, automotive workshops, and underground car parks. When you start seeing erratic CO readings or no reading in a known CO environment, it's time to replace the sensor. 

With normal use the RCM4 lasts approximately two years. Sensor life is highly dependent on exposure to contaminants — repeated exposure will shorten the service life. If you're regularly working in environments with high CO concentrations, inspect and replace more frequently.
