Compatible with gas, oil, and electric heating systems operating on 24V or millivolt circuits, the 1E78-140 is a reliable and straightforward replacement or new construction thermostat suited to a wide range of residential HVAC installations.
Part of the White Rodgers 70 Series — recognised as a perfect upgrade from mechanical thermostats — the 1E78-140 features a large backlit LCD display for clear, easy reading in low-light conditions. The thermostat maintains temperature to within ±1°C accuracy, with selectable Celsius or Fahrenheit display to suit Australian installations. Push button controls make operation simple and intuitive.
Battery powered using two AAA batteries, the 1E78-140 is easy to install and does not require a common wire, making it compatible with most existing heating systems. Permanent memory retains all settings during a power interruption. The universal subbase mounts directly to the wall or to a standard 2 x 4 inch junction box, and an optional wall plate is available for retrofit applications. The subbase is compatible with all 1E78 series models, allowing for easy upgrade or replacement.
